Mod Urban Terror To change gun's colour

Two programs you should get if you don't have them already:
Gimp and Winrar

~Go into your urban terror folder and then q3ut4






~Extract "zpak000_assets.pk3" into your q3ut4 folder






~Once thats done, open up the new folder created




~Go into models




~Now, since we're only going to mod a weapon go into "weapons2" However, you can mod any of these folders in this directory.




~Lets mod the lr300 so open up the "zm300" folder...





~Open up "zm_front" with gimp






~Paint it blue (or any other colour you prefer)! (You can do a better job than me if you want) save and quit





~Do the same for "zm_main", "zm_stuff" and "zm_top"






~Quit out of gimp and go back into your zpak000_assets folder
~Hilight all of the folders, right click and choose "Add to archive"








~This should come up:







~Change the archive format to zip







~And rename the archive name to "zzpak000_assets.pk3" <- Remember its zzpak this time (Important) and .pk3 (also important)
~click "ok" and wait for it to archive it...
~Now, the "zzpak000_assests.pk3" file should be in your zpak000_assets folder






~Cut this file and paste it into your "q3ut4" folder





~Run urban terror, start a server on dressing room and have a look at your cool new blue gun

Yellow

Green

Blue
Indigo
Violet

I did, I was being sarcastic :/ because a rainbow, as you showed, has lots of colours.

I did try this before, but I modified the original zpak_000.pk3 archive, and when I ran the game I had all these weird colours on the screen.

So with this additional .pk3 file is it possible to join public servers?

Hahah! I tried it...I messed it up completely...like reallllly badly, I now have to re-download UrT lol. That's how badly I messed up the files.

Yus you can join servers. And whats even cooler, on some servers you can even see your mod

when i join servers my game totally screws up

You need to create a separate zpac .pk3 file, DON'T MODIFY ORIGINAL. Read the tutorial closely.
